Monday June 24th I woke

Monday June 24th

I woke up and found I was afraid.

That unresolved fear in my mind had exploded all across it. It covered everything. I could not control my thoughts.

I went out into a foreign land. "I am afraid of nothing," said I.
Then I looked into my mind and found fear.
"What is it?" I asked my mind.
"It is nothing," my mind replied.
And I was afraid.

  1. Fafner remarked:

When you’re afraid, and you’re with someone who is not afraid and who comforts you, does that affect your fear?

  2. Katherine remarked:

If it’s the sort of fear that can be comforted, I think it does. But to be comforted would mean that I have to have hold of something which can demonstrate itself both stronger than me and stronger than whatever it is I fear, and which has to persuade me completely (trust) that it is entirely on my side.

Like a parent, except for the whole realm of comprehended things.
