The Arrogant Emu

The Arrogant Emu

Here I am in Annapolis.

July 23rd, 2002

Here I am in Annapolis. I apologize to those who only are in contact with me through the bloglets for not having said much about Italy yet. I will, as soon as I finish moving in! I am living with Mary and Jenny and Mandi, and visiting often Calderwild, the house-name of the household my roommate and CJ are inhabiting.

Got into Annapolis yesterday evening, so I still have yet to see you all. And Gus is staying here tonight. Hurrah!

Another thought: I was reading around in the Random Entries (Kerne’s in particular works very well when read that way) and observing all sort of things about my blog and those of others. First, a lot of us are fairly decent prose stylists, when it comes to it. I was really surprised by how not-bad, even, on occasion, how downright good the writing was. Second, I am a lousy typist. I hate lousy typists! If I were making my acquaintance via internet, I should doubtless write myself off directly as a slatternly writer, one who doesn’t care enough about words to do them the basic courtesy of spelling them correctly!

Last, blog entries should be interesting on their own, that is to say, deprived of their context as updates on the person’s current character and situation. I fear this entry is not one such.

And really lastly this time - my comments seem to have vanished for older entries. Or was this something that I should have known already?

  1. How do you mean that your comments have vanished? Do you mean that you have found old entries of yours without comments where you clearly recall that there had been?

Indeed, it should not be so. I made a point of transmuting all the old comments alongside all the old bloglet entries. However, I could indeed have accidentally overlooked or omitted a block of your comments. Worry not; this is an entirely remediable situation. I shall look into it.

  3. Katharine Katharine Katharine! Do you have the words to the Rambling Rover in your giant songbook? I can only remember the chorus and the last verse and it’s driving me batty.
