"Souls are not of fire,

"Souls are not of fire, but of stone," said I, looking at the grave, eternal demeanaor the stone guards at the Capitoline. This is an image of what is eternallythe same with us. This is eternal life - not "doing lots of stuff for a very long time" nor being frozen into perpetual fixity, but that by which something continues to be itself, a character in full existing forever, unchanging but but unfixed, whose only work is to be itself.

Can this concept of soul coexist with your childhood desire to be an everlasting firework?
